Welcome to the Meier Clinics in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
We’re glad you found us! Our counseling team welcomes you and invites you to learn more about Meier Clinics and the services available at the Pittsburgh clinic through our team of Christian counselors.
The first Meier Clinics was opened in 1976 in Richardson, Texas, by Dr. Paul Meier and his sister, Mrs. Nancy Brown. As word spread of the tremendous success patients were having as a result of the revolutionary treatment they were receiving from expertly trained Christian doctors, psychologists, counselors, and staff, the Clinics eventually spread coast to coast. All of our clinical staff are dedicated to providing Christian counseling in a safe environment. Our approach treats the whole person – emotionally, physically and spiritually. Working together, lives are being restored daily. Thousands of individuals, couples, and families are now enjoying a more productive, fulfilling, and joyful life. Give us a call today and find out why we have a reputation as "one of the most trusted names in Christian counseling."
AVAILABLE SERVICES AT THE PITTSBURGH CLINIC
Outpatient Counseling – Typically meeting once per week one-on-one with a therapist, outpatient counseling is specifically geared toward helping individuals, couples, and families address the concerns and hurts that are affecting them emotionally, relationally, physically and spiritually. Our licensed professionals help individuals and families deal effectively with issues and move forward in life through the development of individualized treatment plans. Time and time again, clients find the restoration they are seeking through the Biblically and psychologically sound use of action plans, improved methods of communication, boundary setting skills, and solutions to mending damaged relationships. The results are seen in improved self-images, the courage to stop destructive behaviors, the ability to give and receive forgiveness, new insights into their Christian spirituality and much, much more. We encourage you to check and see if you can get reimbursement for our services through your healthcare insurance plan. We are preferred providers for most of the Highmark BlueCross/Blue Shield products and clients with other plans may be able to access our services through out-of-network plan benefits.
Speaking and Teaching – Our therapists are available to speak to local groups. Whether it's a business, church, school, small group, youth group or class, we would love to talk to you about what your group needs. Our therapists have topics they regularly present such as Building Bridges in Families, Overcoming Obstacles to Divorce Recovery, and Moving Out of Depression. We're also happy to tailor make a presentation to meet your current needs. Please contact JoAnne Crough at 412-531-9600 if you would like to discuss possible topics and dates of availability.
THE PITTSBURGH STAFF
JoAnne Crough, MA, LPC, is the Regional Manager for the Pittsburgh Clinic. JoAnne works exclusively with adults in the area of anxiety, depression, grief/loss, marital/couples counseling, mood disorders, panic attacks, stress, women’s issues and trauma. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C in 1984. She completed post-graduate work at Waynesburg College's Graduate and Professional Studies Program in Counseling Psychology in 2006. She has been employed by Meier Clinics and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors since 2001. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania.
While putting her career aspirations on hold until her children were older, JoAnne taught at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, served as coordinator and chair of numerous service organizations including a refugee resettlement project through her local church, and was a volunteer crisis pregnancy counselor. All of these experiences contribute to her effectiveness as a counselor as she is quite in tune with (and probably currently experiencing!) the very real stressors of life in this world. JoAnne has been married since 1984 and a mother since 1985. During the years that she was not formally practicing counseling, she was engaged in the daily duties of raising a family of three children. (Click on JoAnne's name for additional information.)
Marjorie Mills, MSCP, NCC, LPC, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham College where she completed an internship on an inpatient behavioral health unit at St. Clair Hospital. Marjorie has worked as the Spiritual Counselor at St. Clair Hospital in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania since 2002 where she has been called upon in not only grief and bereavement capacities, but also in emergency and crisis situations. Her experience as a domestic violence counselor has provided her with a depth of understanding of marital and codependency issues. Marjorie counsels adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/ loss, divorce recovery concerns, and is especially interested in women's issues.
