Beth Croley, M.A., L.P.C. 

Treatment Issues:  Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Loss, Parents of Disabled Children, Relational Issues, Sexual Abuse

Education and Training:  Bachelor of Health Sciences from University of Kentucky, 1993.  Masters of Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University, 1996.  Licensed as a Professional Counselor since 1997.  Beth is a member of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies.

 

Background and Experience:  Beth worked at a community counseling center in Warrenville, IL, for five years.  She also worked at a church affiliated counseling center for three years in Louisville, KY.

 

Special Interests and Services:  Beth works with adults regarding a wide range of issues.  She is especially interested in helping clients with relational issues and parents of special needs children.

 

Additional Information:  Beth has led sexual abuse survivors groups and a group for parents of special needs children.  She has two sons and has been married since 1991.

 

Jane Mann, Psy.D., L.C.S.W., A.C.S.W.  

Treatment Issues:  Depression, Parenting, Relationship Issues, Self-Injuring Behavior.  


Education and Training:  Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, 1976.  Masters of Art in Religion from Trinity International University, 1981.  Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College, 2004.  Licensed in Illinois as a Clinical Psychologist. 

 

Background and Experience:  Dr. Mann has experience working as a clinical therapist with abused, neglected, adopted, and foster children.  She also has worked extensively with self-injury clients, particularly adolescents.

 

Special Interests and Services:  Dr. Mann is most interested in parenting issues, self-injuring behavior, and depression, and is experienced in working with people in Christian ministry.  She works with clients in individual, marital, and family therapy, and works extensively with teenagers. 

 

Additional Information:  Dr. Mann is fluent in Cantonese.

 

Kristen McKnight, Psy.D.  

Treatment Issues:  Addictions, Anxiety, Boundaries, Co-Dependency, Depression, Eating Issues, Grief and Loss, Homosexuality, Life Transitions, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Parenting Issues, Post Partum Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Sexual Abuse, Sexual Addictions, Spiritual Issues, and other treatment issues.  Works with men and women, from approximately age 18 through adulthood, including senior citizens.

 

Education and Training:  Doctorate from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, 1992.  Licensed in the state of Illinois as a Clinical Psychologist since 1994. 


Background and Experience: Dr. McKnight has been working with Meier Clinics since 1991.  She also works in a supervisory capacity at the Wheaton College Counseling Center.

 

Special Interests and Services:  Dr. McKnight particularly enjoys working with clients who desire to integrate Christian truths and principles into their therapy.  Her therapy style is relational, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioral.

 

Additional Information:  Dr. McKnight is a member of the American Association for Christian Counselors (AACC).  Dr. McKnight has been married to Scot since 1973.  They have two adult, married children.

Have you always wondered what those initials mean after a person's name?

Psy.D. = Clinical Psychologist.  Licensed psychologist must be a graduate of a doctoral program in clinical, school, or counseling psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association/Counsel for the National Register of Health services providers and have two years supervised clinical or counseling psychology experience, at least one of which must be an internship and one must be postdoctoral  OR be a graduate of a doctoral program equivalent to a clinical school or counseling psychology program with appropriate coursework and have two years of supervised clinical school or counseling experience at least one of which must be an internship and one of which must be postdoctoral  OR be a graduate of a doctoral psychology program or a doctoral program which is psychological in nature and have completed a practicum, internship, and complete two years of supervised clinical psychology experience of which at least one year is postdoctoral.

 

L.P.C.  = Licensed Professional Counselor.  Licensed counselors must hold a Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology.  Until 12/31/98, candidates without a Master's or Doctoral degree must have a Bachelor's degree and five years of full-time satisfactory, supervised counseling experience as a professional counselor.  To maintain licensing, counselors must complete 30 hours of continuing education in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, psychology (or other Illinois Department of Regulations program) during the two years preceding the expiration date of the license.

 

L.C.S.W. = Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Social Workers must have a Master's degree in Social Work form an approved program and complete 3,000 hours of satisfactory, supervised clinical professional experience OR receive a Doctoral degree in social work in combination with 2,000 hours of satisfactory, supervised clinical professional experience.  To maintain licensing, social workers must complete 30 hours of continuing education in social work during the two years preceding the expiration date of the license.

 

A.C.S.W. = Academy of Certified Social Workers.  The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is an organization that recognizes Social Workers that apply for membership and have fulfilled specific criteria as well as agree to adhere by NASW Code of Ethics and NASW Standards for Continuing Professional Education.  Joining the NASW is not a substitution for required state licensing.
